Vietnam Veteran Celebration - Charlotte, NC

On March 31, 2012, the USO of North Carolina, the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters and Charlotte Motor Speedway will host a Vietnam Veteran Celebration event at the Speedway. The various attachments will provide much of the details.  While the event will have an entertainment aspect, we also intend to invite Veteran Service Organizations, military veteran non-profits to attend for the purpose of assisting or educating all veterans or veteran family members.

If you have an interest in setting up a booth/display or other activity during this celebration, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing Teresa Cherry at tcherry@uso-nc.org.  Please do not rely to all but send a separate email to us.  We plan on doing a conference call shortly for those interested in taking part to further explain the event and parameters.  It is important for us to know if you are interested in participating.  We want to accommodate as many organizations wanting to help our military or veterans but cannot guarantee everyone will be able to take part as space is limited. As there are many activities, demonstrations and displays already scheduled, we will be doing a space utilization assessment in late February.  When you email, please give Teresa an idea of your display and space requirements.

I must stress that this is an advocacy not a fund raising event.  As we are receiving Department of Defense support for some of the demonstrations and displays, we cannot violate regulations that preclude support if it has fund raising component.  The event is not a place to solicit funding or sponsorships but rather to provide information or assistance to our veterans.

Feel free to distribute the information attached to your constituents.  We want to ensure its widest dissemination.  Thanks for all that you do for our troops, veterans and their families.
